The Milwaukee Retiree Association, Inc., (MRA), Milwaukee Area Labor Council (MALC), AFL‐CIO, has been actively helping retirees for over 50 years. This is the 20th year the Milwaukee Retiree Association has sponsored a Group Medicare Advantage plan for over 1,200 City of Milwaukee retirees and their Medicare‐eligible spouses/dependents.  We are pleased to report that the Aetna Group Medicare Advantage Plan (Extended Service Area – PPO) will renew for the 2023 Plan Year.

NOTE:  Members longer receive coupon books to pay the monthly premium, but instead will receive a monthly statement from which they can choose any of the many payment options available: online, by mail, by phone, Social Security withholding, bank draw, credit card, or in person at your local CVS store.   Current members with existing bank draw and credit card automatic payment arrangements do not need to do anything.

Analysis by Mike Brady, MRA Board Healthcare Committee Chair

To save over $3000 per year in health premiums and save up to $1500 per year in deductible costs one City Medicare Retiree with the City Plan through UHC Choice Plus can sign up for the MRA Medicare Advantage plan through Aetna.   Over the past 18 years City Medicare retires with the MRA Medicare Advantage Plan have saved up to $60,000 in premium alone.   Over the past 5 years a Medicare retiree has been able to save over $17,000 in premium alone with the MRA Medicare Advantage Plan.   The MRA Medicare Advantage plan should save retirees comparable amounts when compared to the City UHC plans offered to those with Medicare.   You can sign up for the MRA Medicare Advantage plan at any time, and THE RETIREE can ELECT to transfer back, if you are not pleased, during the next open enrollment period.   See more testimonials
